This section gives you information about installing the Dekoh Desktop on Windows, Linux and Mac OS operating systems. Dekoh Desktop installs through a Java applet installation system.

System Requirements

Prior to installing Dekoh Desktop, check:

Hardware Requirements

The hardware requirements are:
  • Any hardware platform that supports Java, with minimum 128 MB RAM (256 recommended)
  • Minimum 100 MB hard disk space during installation. Also, make sure that the temporary directory set by the Environment Variable TMP has a minimum disk space of 100 MB.

Operating Systems

You can install Dekoh Desktop on any platform that supports JDK 5 (version 1.5 and above). It has been tested on:
  • Windows 2000™ Professional and Server
  • Windows NT™ 4 with Service Pack 5 or higher
  • RedHat Linux™ 6.2
  • Windows XP SP2
  • Mac OS X

JRE Requirements

Dekoh Desktop requires JRE™ 1.5.1_01 or higher version to run. To verify the JRE version on your machine, at the command prompt, enter java –version The value that is returned is the JDK version on your machine.

Web Browser Requirements

Dekoh Desktop has been tested to work with Mozilla Firefox 1.5/2.0 , Internet Explorer 5.5/6.0/7.0, Safari, and Netscape 7.0.

Installing Dekoh Desktop on Windows and Linux

To install Dekoh Desktop:
  1. Open your browser and go to www.dekoh.com. Sign up to receive a mail. Use the link provided to sign up and download “Dekoh Desktop”.
  2. This will start installing the Dekoh Desktop on your local machine.
  3. If you do not have Java Runtime Environment installed, the applet prompts you to install the same and then installs the required update after you click Accept.
  4. After you have completed installing JRE, restart the browser.
  5. The applet starts the installation process, extracting the components under the installation directory.
  6. The Dekoh Desktop is installed. You can now verify the installation on your local machine.
