You may want to check out Getting ready for Dekoh development for more detailed understanding of the installation. Please note that you will require JDK for development purposes. Also, you can check out complete version details at Platforms supported.

You can install Dekoh Desktop in either of the two ways:

Standalone Installer (Windows Only)

To use the Standalone installer on your windows machine,
  1. Access the http://www.dekoh.com/cas/install/installers page.
  2. The page that comes up displays a list of installers.
  1. Download the installer from one of the two options:
    1. Use "Dekoh Desktop without Java" if you already have Java installed on your machine.
    2. Use "Dekoh Desktop with Java" if you want to install Java along with the Dekoh Desktop.
  2. Once the download is complete, run the executable on your machine to install Dekoh.

Java Applet Based Installer

We assume you have already signed up at www.dekoh.com, clicked on the confirmition link in the mail sent to you by Dekoh. You should be prompted to install “Dekoh Desktop” and a Java Applet based installer should start the process.

Step 1. Java Installation (if required)

Dekoh Installer (Java Applet) first checks out if the right version of Java™ is installed on your computer. If found, you are directly taken to the "Security Verification Certificate" page.

If you do not have the right version of Java Runtime Environment installed, the applet prompts you to install the same and then installs the required update after you click Accept. You will find additional help on Java installation and enabling Javascript, provided separately below for IE users, Firefox users, or Safari users.

If you are a developer, and want to develop your applications on Dekoh, you should have installed JDK.

Note: Please ensure Javascript is enabled on your browser.

Step 2. Accept Security Certificate

The Security Verification Certificate protects you by ensuring that you are not misled into installing something else in the name of Dekoh.

Once here, you should accept the Verisign Certificate only if the publisher is Pramati Technologies (the company that created Dekoh software). Click Run/Trust:

Note: After Java installation is complete or Java is detected, you may find that the browser is waiting for you to act while showing you something like this below. The certificate is now in the background, so switch to that and click Run/Trust.

Step 3. Installing Dekoh Desktop

The applet starts the installation process (with progress bar showing activity), and places all the extracted components under the installation directory.

Starting Dekoh Desktop

Once the installation is complete, you will be automatically taken to your Dekoh Desktop.

To start Dekoh subsequently, use the Dekoh Desktop icon on your Desktop (Windows and Mac), and <your home directory>/Dekoh/dekoh.sh file (Linux).
