When attempting to install the Dekoh server at the end of the installation, i get the following error in my browser (IE 6.0)
"There was an error while installing. Please delete C:\Dekoh and try again"

I also get the following exceptions in the browser JVM console.

Apr 23, 2007 11:40:13 AM com.pramati.bfly.install.tests.PortTest test
WARNING: Port test failed.
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method)

Apr 23, 2007 11:40:34 AM com.pramati.bfly.install.tests.ChunkingTest test
WARNING: Chunking test failed.
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect

Apr 23, 2007 11:40:55 AM com.pramati.bfly.install.BaseInitializer install
SEVERE: Failed to install Dekoh Desktop
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect

Was wondering if it has something to do firewall settings?

Hello Ramdas,
We've changed some settings on our end - it should work fine now even if you're behind a firewall. Could you try to install it once more please? Do not forget to delete C:\Dekoh (if it exists) before attempting to reinstall.
In case it still fails, could you copy paste the whole output from the browser JVM console so that we can diagnose the problem?

Hi,
I just tried to install but get the error message asking me to delete c:\\dekho which doesn't exist. I use MS Vista. Is it the problem?

Hello dr.mohan rao
Windows Vista has certain restrictions as to whether even signed Java applets are allowed to write to the root directory i.e., C after you give them permission - in this case, the Dekoh Desktop installer is a signed applet which needs write permissions to C: and this is denied. There is no known workaround for this now.

The following links document the issue.
http://java.sun.com/javase/6/webnotes/#windowsvista
http://weblogs.java.net/blog/chet/archive/2006/10/java_on_vista_y.html

This is why Windows Vista is not on the list of Dekoh - supported OSs yet, but we're working on possible solutions. Stay tuned.
